Overview
LUPNG offers research-led Masters and PhD degrees, and postgraduate diplomas across development-focused disciplines. Programs combine flexible delivery, face-to-face residential intensives, and supervision by visiting academics from partner universities.
Masters (By Research)
Postgraduate Diplomas
- Postgraduate Diploma in Education — Secondary Teaching
- Postgraduate Diploma in STEM Education
- Postgraduate Diploma in Para-Veterinary & Technology (PGDPVT) — includes 3-month practical residency
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Research PhDs are offered in Engineering, Urban & Strategic Planning, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Disaster Risk Management, and Theology & Development. Typical duration: 3–4 years full-time or up to 6–7 years part-time.
Program Structure & Delivery
Most masters and diploma programs comprise eight modules (6 core + 2 electives) plus a year-long research thesis for research-stream students. Delivery is flexible — blended modes with residential intensives on the Lae campus and online learning for external students.
